We made reindeer antlers to wear for the day. Here's our class with our antlers on.
We also made some reindeer food. I hope everyone sprinkled it on their lawns Christmas Eve night!
We read some nonfiction books about reindeer and learned some facts about real reindeer. We made an adorable reindeer and wrote new facts we learned on him.
We played a math "Sum It Up" grinch game. We rolled 2 dice and wrote the equation on our game sheet. When you have 3 equations for that total you win! The students loved playing this math partner game.

We also played a Grinch math game with our table group. The students pulled a card out of the container without looking. If they answered the math problem right, they got to keep the card. However, if you pulled a Grinch card, you had to put all your cards back. The winner was the one with the most cards at the end. Another BIG hit with the class!

Oh, no! The grinch card!
Look at all Taylor's cards!
Jillian had lots of cards too!
We also made Grinch dust. Everyone came and added some of the green food coloring to help make the dust. Ella was our class photographer for this event!
Here's a look at the final product. I hope everyone sprinkled it on their lawns this year.
We made an adorable grinch and wrote about what makes us feel like a grinch. They turned out great, but I didn't get any pictures of them. We also made and enjoyed some grinch punch. Most of the class liked it.
We have been working very hard on our Christmas performance in music. Monday night we had our musical at the high school. The students were very excited to sing on the big stage. They all did a wonderful job! While helping backstage I managed to snap a few photos. I hate that I didn't get a picture of everyone in their Christmas clothes. Everyone looked so nice!
Last week we had a new arrival from the North Pole!
There have been elves from the North Pole popping up all over school. The students asked where was my elf and I explained how I had never had one before. After investigating all the elves close by, we were beginning to feel left out. So...we wrote a letter to three of the elves in nearby classrooms and hand delivered them. We asked those elves to PLEASE ask Santa to send us an elf for our classroom. The next morning we had a surprise delivery in the office from the North Pole! Mrs. Pennington delivered this beautiful basket to our room.
Squeals of excitement could be heard all the way down the hall. We enjoyed a special North Pole breakfast of snow covered donuts, kisses from Santa, and Reindeer kisses from Rudolph and the other reindeer. We named him Speedy. The students have been super excited to spot the elf each day.
